1. Introduction

This Refund Policy explains the circumstances under which Browser.lol (operated by Zesiger.net) issues refunds for paid services. This policy is incorporated into and forms part of our Terms of Service.

Browser.lol is currently sold as one-time (lifetime) purchases, such as Browser Unlock and Premium. Every one-time purchase is covered by a 7-day, full, no-questions-asked refund guarantee (Section 2.1). Some customers still hold legacy recurring subscriptions purchased before we moved to one-time plans; the subscription-specific rules in this policy apply only to those legacy subscriptions.

Beyond the guarantees and statutory rights described in this policy, sales are final and additional refunds are granted at our discretion.

2. Refund Eligibility

2.1. 7-Day Money-Back Guarantee (One-Time Purchases)

Every one-time purchase (such as Browser Unlock or Premium) is covered by a 7-day, full, no-questions-asked refund guarantee:

  • You may request a full refund within 7 calendar days of your purchase for any reason, or for no reason at all.
  • Email support@browser.lol from the email address associated with your account; include your order ID or transaction reference if available.
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method. Cryptocurrency payments are refunded in the same cryptocurrency at the original transaction amount; we do not compensate for exchange-rate fluctuations between purchase and refund.
  • Once the refund is processed, the purchased entitlement is removed from the account.

See our Lifetime Plan Policy for full details on one-time purchases.

2.2. Service Failure Refunds

You may be eligible for a full or partial refund if:

  • We have experienced severe and prolonged service outages that made the core Services unusable for you for more than 7 consecutive days; or
  • We have made material adverse changes to the Services that significantly reduce the functionality you paid for.

In such cases, the refund amount will be reasonable in proportion to the impairment; for legacy subscriptions it will be prorated based on the remaining unused portion of the subscription period.

2.3. Duplicate or Erroneous Charges

If you have been charged multiple times for the same service or incorrectly charged due to a billing error on our part, we will issue a full refund of the duplicate or incorrect charge.

2.4. Account Suspension or Termination by Us

If we terminate your account for reasons other than a violation of our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy, you may be eligible for a refund that is reasonable in proportion to the unused portion of what you paid (see also Section 9 of the Lifetime Plan Policy for service discontinuation).

3. Non-Refundable Items and Situations

The following are NOT eligible for refunds, except where mandatory law or an express guarantee in this policy provides otherwise:

  • One-Time Purchases After 7 Days: Outside the 7-day guarantee (Section 2.1) and your statutory rights (Section 7), one-time purchases are final.
  • Legacy Subscription Renewals: Automatic renewals of legacy subscriptions are not refundable. It is your responsibility to cancel before the renewal date if you do not wish to continue.
  • Partial Period Cancellations (Legacy Subscriptions): If you cancel mid-billing cycle, you keep access until the end of the paid period, but we do not provide prorated refunds for unused days.
  • Account Violations: Accounts terminated for violating our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy are not eligible for any refund.
  • Change of Mind After the Guarantee Window: Beyond the 7-day guarantee, refunds are not provided simply because you changed your mind or no longer need the service.
  • Free Tier: Free tier usage is not eligible for refunds (as no payment was made).
  • Third-Party Charges: Charges by third parties (for example network or exchange fees on cryptocurrency payments) are not refundable by us.

4. How to Request a Refund

To request a refund, please follow these steps:

  1. Submit a Request: Email us at support@browser.lol with the subject line "Refund Request"
  2. Provide Required Information:
    • Your account email address
    • Transaction ID or date of charge
    • For requests under the 7-day guarantee, nothing else is needed; for other requests, the reason and any supporting documentation (e.g., error messages, screenshots, timestamps)
  3. Verification: We may ask you to verify your identity or provide additional information to process your request
  4. Review: We aim to review requests within 5-7 business days
  5. Decision: You will receive an email with our decision and, if approved, the expected refund timeline

Important Notes:

  • Refund requests under Sections 2.2-2.4 should be submitted within 30 days of the event giving rise to them; the 7-day guarantee and your statutory rights have their own time limits
  • We reserve the right to request additional information or documentation for requests outside the 7-day guarantee
  • Fraudulent refund requests may result in account termination and legal action

5. Refund Processing

5.1. Processing Time

Once a refund is approved:

  • We will process the refund within 5-10 business days
  • Refunds are issued to the original payment method used for the purchase
  • It may take an additional 5-10 business days for the refund to appear in your account, depending on your bank or payment provider

5.2. Refund Method

  • Credit/Debit Card: Refunded to the original card via the original payment processor (Stripe)
  • Cryptocurrency: Refunded in the same cryptocurrency at the original transaction amount (see Section 2.1)
  • Other Payment Methods: Refunded using the same method where possible; if not possible, we will contact you to arrange an alternative
  • Currency: Refunds are issued in the same currency as the original charge

5.3. Partial Refunds (Legacy Subscriptions)

Where a prorated refund is warranted for a legacy subscription, the refund amount is calculated as:

Refund Amount = (Total Paid / Days in Billing Cycle) × Unused Days

Partial refunds are rounded to the nearest cent.

5.4. Account Status After Refund

  • Once a refund of a one-time purchase is processed, the purchased entitlement is removed from the account; access to paid features ends when the refund is processed
  • For legacy subscriptions, a refund ends the subscription; for partial refunds you may keep access until the end of the current billing period
  • You retain access to the free tier
  • Data retention continues to apply as described in our Privacy Policy

6. Chargebacks and Disputes

Please contact us before initiating a chargeback with your bank or payment provider.

If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute through your bank or payment provider:

  • Your account may be suspended pending resolution of the dispute
  • We will provide evidence to your payment provider to contest invalid chargebacks
  • If the chargeback is found to be invalid or fraudulent, we reserve the right to:
    • Permanently terminate your account
    • Pursue recovery of the chargeback fees and costs
    • Report the incident to fraud prevention services
  • If the chargeback is valid, we will work with you to resolve the underlying issue

We encourage you to contact us at support@browser.lol to resolve any billing issue first. Given the 7-day no-questions-asked guarantee, most issues can be resolved faster through direct communication than through a chargeback. Initiating a chargeback in good faith is your right and will not by itself lead to account termination.

7. Consumer Rights (Switzerland and EU)

This Refund Policy does not limit your statutory consumer rights. Where mandatory law gives you more than this policy, mandatory law prevails.

7.1. EEA and UK Consumers: 14-Day Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract for digital services within 14 days of purchase without giving any reason (Directive 2011/83/EU; UK Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). We honour this right: notify us within 14 days of purchase at legal@browser.lol or support@browser.lol. Where the law permits and you began using the service during the withdrawal period, we may deduct an amount proportionate to the service already provided; within the first 7 days our no-questions-asked guarantee gives you a full refund regardless.

7.2. Switzerland

Swiss law does not provide a general statutory right of withdrawal for online purchases. Your rights under the Swiss Code of Obligations (CO), including warranty rights, remain unaffected by this policy. Our 7-day no-questions-asked guarantee applies to Swiss customers in full.

7.3. Exercising Statutory Rights

To exercise any statutory consumer right, please contact us at legal@browser.lol with details of your request and, if known, the legal basis you are relying upon (a plain-language description of the problem is enough).

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Refund Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated to active customers via email at least 30 days before taking effect. The "Last Updated" date at the bottom of this policy indicates when it was last revised.

Changes do not affect refund requests for charges made before the change took effect.

Last Updated: June 11, 2026
